Pilot Project Innovation Internships (R-4955)

The starting point of the Innovation Stage is that students based on their - through education - acquired knowledge and skills can be turned on in practical , real innovative operations. The daily supervision is provided by an employee of the company, who duly receives the necessary guidance and support so that the quality of the daily supervision is guaranteed. The university teachers - from the pursuit of quality - will especially watch over the meaningfulness of - in the light of the training - the activities for which the student is turned on and the achievement of the established learning objectives. Compared with the practice placements in other countries and in the past in Flanders , the pilot project ' Innovation Stages' focuses on an additional dimension , notably contribution to innovative projects in project providers . These providers are sought by the innovation centres in a broad target group of companies , university laboratories , university hospitals , research institutions and civil society organizations. Concerning the companies particular attention will be paid to the involvement of SMEs in the Innovation Internships ( minimum 50 % of SMEs ). The study will make a proposal for how this pilot project should be Organizational formed within the associations, including the implementation of the cooperation with the various innovation actors in Flanders and the dimensioning of the required budget space . The goal is to achieve the organization of 50 to 150 innovation internships in Flanders, divided among all associations , according to their shares in the courses of Engineering Technology.
