Efficient separation of macroconstituents from biomass by combining unit operations based on insights in the structural organization (EFFSEP)

The overall objective of this project is to gain a clear mechanistic understanding of the impact of unit operations used: i) for stabilizing, detaching and extracting functional macro constituents (proteins, polysaccharides and fats) from biomass, ii) for breaking the cell wall of the biomass, and iii) for the cellular organization of the biomass.
