Flute tunes, bell sounds (Henri Bosco)

Journal Contribution - Journal Article

The works of Henri Bosco (1888-1976) demonstrate a strong feeling for the panic dimension of the world, which also appears as the mirror of the historical backcloth. This feeling finds expression, in the poetics of narratives (L'Ane Culotte (1937), Sylvius (1946)) in the "narrative cell" (Jean Rousset) of the flute playing which charms the snake and which is taken over by the sound of the bell. These variations implicitly draw a fragile redeeming course.
