Adjunctival secondary predicates in English: A layered structural-functional model
The aim of this research is to develop a description and explanation (1) of the syntax and semantics of secondary predication in english (2) in a structural-functional grammatical model based on layering, and (3) within the framework of a theory of predication. The research focuses on participant-oriented adjuncts and their relationship with participants and main predicates in the clausal syntagm.
