Organisation profile:Salto stands for "exploring alternatives together." Our research group has its own somewhat alternative character. Sustainability and ethical use of resources is the common thread throughout our research. Aqua-ERF is the research center for aquaculture of Odisee University College. With our research we contribute to the development of an economically viable aquaculture in Flanders, and we investigate whether agricultural companies can diversify their activities with fish farming. In addition to project research, the Aqua-ERF also provides its expertise and facilities to companies that want to test their products. In addition to research, education is an important pillar. Students, entrepreneurs and other interested parties can come to Odisee for our aquaculture courses. We also offer the opportunity to gain practical experience in the form of internships and projects within Aqua-ERF. One welfare is the theme that is shared between both research centers.
