Division

Lifecycle:31 Dec 2008 →  31 Jan 2017
Organisation profile:

The Ecosystem Management research group focuses on the various aspects of integrated nature conservation and forestry. For example, what can we learn from unmanaged forests and how can natural processes such as wind action, erosion and sedimentation, and herbivory, when combined with focused traditional management techniques, enhance biodiversity in natural areas? What kind of management can ensure that ecosystems function in forests and in multifunctional rural areas? What new forms of forestry show promise in response to changing climatic conditions as well as being beneficial for biodiversity? And how can focused management in rural areas help preserve biodiversity?
