400 MHz liqiuid-state NMR Spectrometer

The user-friendly 400 MHz NMR spectrometer is a very important tool for the research groups that are active in the field of organic and inorganic synthesis in the new Corelab research facilities at the Arenberg III Campus of KU Leuven. More than 100 researchers will be active users of this apparatus. The NMR spectrometer has a high throughput of samples thank to a full automation and sensitive electronics for data collection. NMR spectroscopy is used for the structure determination of organic molecules and metal complexes in solution. The technique is essential for the identification of unknown compounds such as newly extraction natural compounds or for purity determination of synthesized compounds. NMR spectroscopy is a very useful technique for monitoring the progress of chemical reactions and for kinetic studies. Besides research, this NMR spectrometer will also be used for training of the next generations of chemists in advanced NMR techniques.
