Environmental and circularity assessment methods for sustainable business models

This PhD aims to develop a method to assess the environmental impacts and the circularity of alternative business models. The sustainability of certain products is largely determined by the complete lifecycle and the business model supporting this life cycle. In order to become more sustainable, businesses need a framework to asses the environmental and economical impacts of their business models. The focus of this PhD is on the development of an LCA related method to analyze the business models for high-value, long-lived mechatronic products. The research is based on a flemish SBO project funded by FlandersMake, in cooperation with a number of flemish businesses.
