Management of tidal marshes

The Scheldt tidal marshes are subject to Natura 2000 targets, on the one hand because of the habitat types present and on the other hand as habitat for species. In its management and policy, de Vlaamse Waterweg must ensure that these objectives are met and it wishes to know which salt marsh management is necessary/desirable for this purpose. In other words, where and how is active management of tidal marsh vegetation desirable in order to evolve towards a good conservation status?
A tidal marsh management plan can be used by site management organisations to align their management works with the realisation of the conservation objectives. On the other hand, the management of the controlled reduced tidal areas will also be outsourced. The same considerations must also be made for these areas.
