Spatial planning and management as part of a Balanced Approach to noise management at Brussels-National Airport
The aim of the study is to prepare the client, the Enivronment Department, for the process of the Balanced Approach procedure (EU Regulation 598/2014), in which measures that can be classified according to four pillars are combined into the most cost-effective mix of measures to achieve a predetermined noise target. This study seeks to provide insight into the possible measures within pillar 2 “spatial planning and management”, including an assessment of feasibility within the specific context of Brussels National Airport.
