Abstract:The present paper consists in a reconstruction of the notions of recognition in Schiller’s Letter on Aesthetic Education, Schelling’s New Deduction of Natural Law and Fichte’s Foundations of Natural Law. The paper focusses on the logical dynamics these authors employ when they explain the interaction between intersubjectivity and subjectivity and on the meaning the concept of freedom acquires in each account on recognition.
