Abstract
Translation is the civilizational bridge for human civilization, whether in the ancient, medieval or contemporary world. It has played a major role in the transfer of cultural heritage and human culture from one nation to another.
Through this study, the researcher tries to investigate role of translation in influencing the historical awareness of the students in history departments of two of the most important Saudi universities.
So, the study Compare two major trends in studying history in Saudi Arabia universities in relation to its depending on the translated contents and role of translated content in teaching history for students of the two types of universities
The first (Umm Al-Qura University) is one of the traditional universities that relied mainly on the Islamic cultural and heritage, While the other university (King Abdulaziz University), is a modernist university.
By analyzing the content of curricula in the history departments of both universities and comparing them, the research could uncover the role that translation plays in influencing the awareness of history students in Saudi Arabia, who are one of the main actors in spreading historical awareness to other individuals and answer the main question of the study;
