LNE helps Flanders on its way to a green economy

Book - Report

Subtitle:final report
This report is the final report of the study 'LNE helps Flanders towards a Green Economy' that Technum carried out in collaboration with SuMa Consulting for the LNE department.

The study ran from spring 2012 to summer 2013. During the project, 'Green Economy' and what it can mean, what it should lead to and what preconditions should be met, was discussed in many circles. Both with civil servants (inside and outside the LNE) and societal actors, as well as with representatives of official organisations as well as of individual companies. One of the most important results of this project is that it has contributed to the concept of 'Green'. Economics' to be introduced in Flanders. The 'Day of Thought' of 12 November 2012 has certainly contributed to this. The more 'tangible' results of the research are summarised in this final report.

The final report is structured around the two tracks that were followed in the assignment:
- Track 1: Initiation of a policy framework for the Green Economy; and
- Track 2: concrete initiatives.

The results of the first track are presented in Chapter 2 of this report. In the second track of the assignment, 3 project ideas were developed into project proposals. Chapter 3 gives a summary of the project proposals as they have been worked out so far. Finally, in the summary in Chapter 3.3.4, we present some conclusions from the research carried out.
