Backup mandate Research Council: Perceived injustice-targeted pain neuroscience education combined with motivational interviewing: Can we decrease health care utilization in breast cancer survivors? Vrije Universiteit Brussel
21-76% of breast cancer survivors (BCS) experience pain. More
healthcare use (HCU) is seen in BCS with pain. Recent work revealed that perceived injustice (PI) is experienced by 22% of BCS with pain. PI is the tendency to attribute blame to others for one’s suffering and to experience a sense of unfairness and is associated with higher opioid use, influencing HCU. ...

Morphodynamic equilibria in tidal systems with arbitrary planform and river discharge Ghent University
Changes in the seabed of tidal systems, induced by sea level rise or human interferences, may compromise economic and ecological values. To thoroughly assess the sensitivity of the seabed to changes in external forcing, computationally cheap, finite-element-based, exploratory models will be developed to identify equilibrium beds (attractors) in basins with arbitrary planform, as a complementary tool to classical simulation models.

A new window on the atomic nucleus through high-precision atomic spectroscopy techniques. KU Leuven
This project will extend the precision frontier for measurements of the
atomic structure of radioactive nuclei by a factor of 1000 compared to
the current state-of-the art, with the aim of improving our
understanding of the motion and distribution of nucleons in
radioactive atomic nuclei. By using high-precision quantum optics
methods at radioactive beam facilities, combining lasers, ion traps
and radiofrequency ...
Digitising the indigenous and indigenising the digital: Using new technologies to create ethically minded paths for circulation of traditional dances Ghent University
Explore and critique the possibilities that new digital technologies convey for the safeguarding of indigenous dances and intangible cultural heritage practices. Blockchain, motion-capture, and other digitisation tools are to be examined within the margins wherein they are embedded: intellectual property, interculturalism and accessibility issues. The interdisciplinary methodology aims to deliver theoretical and critical frameworks for future ...
