This 2-day academic symposium, co-organised by Ghent University and the University of Los Andes, explores the impact of decisions by international human rights bodies and the constitutional and supreme courts in Latin America. Focusing on human rights, democracy, and prison systems, it aims to foster constructive dialogue between Europe and Latin-America, and academic collaboration among scholars, judges, civil society and policy makers through theoretical and empirical analysis.
