In this study, it is examined to which extent the container terminal in Grimbergen experiences additional competition from the container terminal in Brussels following a regional subsidy. The study analyzes the spatial impact on the market area of the container terminal in Grimbergen. Different solutions are proposed to neutralize the effect of subsidies which the terminal in Brussels receives and to restore the situation prior to the endowment.
