Vulnerability for depression during the life span: the influence of time perspective on attentional bias for negative versus positive interpersonal information Ghent University
This project investigates the relationship between time perspective, attentional bias for affective stimuli and mood in a life span perspective. Because attentional bias is a vulnerability factor for depression, and because it is a bias that occurs at later stages of information processing, it is clinically relevant to investigate which top-down processes influence this bias, to underpin possible therapeutic interventions.
Self-healing in lime based mortars Ghent University
Providing lime mortars with an early strength is usually done through expensive and/or toxic chemicals. Here we propose obtaining rapid hardening of lime mortars through bacterial CO2 production and calcium carbonate precipitation. Also, the autogenous self-healing capacity of lime mortars will be studied and bacteria will be added into lime mortar, to induce CaCO3 precipitation in occurring microcracks.
