Oenothera jamesii Torrey & A. Gray (Onagraceae), a native of the southwestern United States and adjacent parts of Mexico, was found along a streamside near Aksu village in Çağlayancerit and along roadsides in Andırın district of Kahramanmaraş Province in the Eastern Mediterranean Region of Turkey. It is the fourth Oenothera species noted so far in Turkey. This species is morphologically similar to Oenothera biennis Linnaeus and O. stucchii Soldano. A full botanical description, seed surface sculpture in SEM, habitat features, field photographs and a distribution map are provided, as well as an identification key to the genus Oenothera in Turkey.
