Investigation of teachers' perceptions of FATIH project (Eskisehir Province Case)

This research aims to explore the multi-faceted teachers’ views on the implementation of the FATIH project. For this purpose 17 teachers working in 3 secondary schools in Eskişehir were interviewed. The data collection was subjected to axis coding in nine categories by using descriptive analysis and coding themes were developed depending on teachers’ views. Results of the study showed that the competencies of teachers to use technological tools were divided into two as material to choose and develop; the interactive board distributed in scope of FATİH Project are largely used by teachers. In the theme of disadvantages of interactive boards, ıt was stated that when used incorrectly caused time loss. For the category and cooperation of teachers some teachers said that the project contributed to the collaboration between teachers, while others were cautious. A group of teachers stated that each new model is encouraging for cooperation. For the success of in-service training, it was stated that teachers were needed to be willing and ready to learn. The training was criticized in terms of content and methodology. Lastly, the problems encountered in the implementation of FATİH Project, were taken spotlight and concluded that technical difficulties and deficiencies in Project planning were identified.
