Quantitative analysis techniques for evaluating the reliability of Li-ion battery: challenges and solutions

Boekbijdrage - Boekhoofdstuk Conferentiebijdrage

The reliability assessment of Li-ion batteries has an essential role in terms of lifetime, design, maintenance, and service for electrical application systems. In this paper, the challenges of reliability evaluation of the Li-ion battery at different kinds of degradation conditions have been investigated. In this regard, the batteries at temperatures and C-rate degradation conditions to study the capacity fade as one of the reliability indicators have been considered. The results indicate that the reliability in the high C-rate at 25°C and low temperature under standard test protocol is more economical than other conditions. Moreover, the proposed quantitative analysis is a proper way to study the reliability of Li-ion batteries for railway and Electric Vehicles (EVs) electric applications.
