Wij bestuderen alle ziekteterreinen: acarologie, bacteriologie, entomologie, mycologie, nematologie en virologie. Wij identificeren en typeren plantenpathogenen, vaak via moleculair onderzoek. We verhelderen de relatie tussen de pathogeen en zijn waardplant. We ontwikkelen alternatieve beheersstrategieën (maar geen fytoproducten) in het kader van IPM in diverse teeltsystemen. Diagnosticeren is een belangrijke afgeleide van het onderzoek.
